The Road Not Taken
Ever since I read this poem for the first time it has prodded me to jostle my thoughts about the choices one makes in his life and the various dimensions associated with me. The poet here has all the creative luxury and freewill to tread on the path that was unconventional, symbolizing the road less traveled by. However, growing up in a society where the question of existentialism is more pertinent the question of existing with a purpose it is very difficult to make those unconventional choices. And needless to say, even tougher to stay on the course in spite of all the roadblocks that come forth. Therefore, most of us, if not all, do live through the conventional choices that our peers vouch as safe. Does that mean that there is no glory for all these people? Does that mean that these people are deemed unfit to leave a mark in this ever-evolving world? We think of such questions and thereby feel worthy of not choosing the road less traveled by.
Having already made some choices we cannot go back in time and change what already had taken place. At such instances we have to find a way out that though conventional but our decision still stand out from the majority. One way to do this could be to walk far enough on the road more traveled by. Far enough that your conventional choice of avoiding the road less traveled by becomes irrelevant. Far enough that you end up making the conventional unconventional. However, this is just one way out of many that might be there but the onus is on us the choices makers to stand by for sometime and reflect. Reflect, not on the choices made but to make it stand out.
